Hi guys, thank you for listening to Take a Fashion Seat. Tonight is part two of Shared Designers. So I wanna do a short, short podcast tonight because it's the holiday weekend, but I wanted to give you a little bit. Um I did share designers last year, so I'm gonna do part two. So guess basically when all of the share design um designers started. So it began basically in 1966, guys. First share designs. Um in 1966, announced guess who announced the start of the sexual revolution? Um it was designer Eve Saint Laurent. And I talked about him last week, remember? So the female body was gradually revealed. Uh Rudy, his name was Janice or Jan Reach, I'm not sure how to pronounce it, designed the first. It was a monochini in 1964. In 1966, Eve Saint Laurent made the female chest visible with the first shear look, which is supplantly covered with a see-through, like a sigalon. The new look was born, and then in 1968, E Saint Laurent designs the most emblematic example of the transparent chiffon dress um with a belt. So that's who guys, that's how it all started. So you can do sheer, but make sure you do it with elegance. Um, you can do it, cover them up with a vest or cover them up with a jacket. Be elegant when you do the shear. I mean, you can't just, I don't think the power of a shear should be like everything revealed. Um, I love fashion and I love the power of the shear. But the shear is, I think, created for certain um places, like you could be on a beach or in a private setting, or if you're gonna do it in a public setting, you should do a cover all, like cover it up, in a sense, not just be revealing like that. So there was an article written, The Shear Power by Hannah Jackson. Um, and she wrote, Lately, fashion has left little to be imagined. So that's what I'm talking about. You leave something to be imagined, but you know, lately the sheer dress trend, while varying in levels of modesty, um, is inceptible, it's barely concealed. You know, you got brush showing belly buttons and things. Um, many um celebrities, there, and I'm not gonna name them, revealing a lot and making jaws dropped. So um that's the new thing this year. But the mysteries of the 18th century, portrait of a young lady in white by an unknown artist, has enjoyed the renewal cultural interest as cover my ear, rest relaxation. But the artwork is which is subject, perhaps, are visible through um a layer of fabric. So the style which write Louis Sebastian, um the savage did not leave the beholder to divine the secret charm. So back then they did it too. But you gotta leave some things to the imagined, don't let it all hang out. I mean, this is just basically how I'm putting it. Um, I don't have a problem with this year, just like if it's um seen elegance. The article goes on to say, Silent film, Scarlet Clara Bow secured her sex symbol status in 1925. My lady of whims, thanks to her scandalous see-through dress, when ball occurred to prudent, severant invited to a costume ball with the theme The Less Worm, the easier she takes the message. Literally, the dress which made is the big screen before the entertainment industry um adopted this uh guidelines called the Hayes Code, was so revealing that it would shock today's standards. So they did it back then. Um, this going by the history, and people are just revisiting these days. Um, it's the power of choosing revealing the body. Um, this article was amazing. She went on to name, you know, some of the what people wore. Like for instance, um, she said there's an incredible power and choosing to reveal the body. In 1998, Rose McGowan wore um a beaded Esque dress um with large pink thumbs. The VMAs decades later, she shared the first red carpet since she was a you know, her the whole Harvey Weinstein thing. Um, and then she, you know, it it was like, is that what you want? This was a political statement, the conversation around the revealing dress. Um, and then you, you know, remember the year Jennifer Lopez wore the iconic Versace gown, and I liked her gown. Um, it was really pretty. And it was to me that was a classy look. Um, the 2000 Grammy sheer plunging neckline. Um and so that's this was from the past. So fashion just recreates and people just redo things. The designers, um, they come through and they shine bright with um bringing us um different ways that we can wear sheer looks. Um and so the article goes on, and it talked about the portrait of the young woman, 1798, Clara Bow, 1925, remember Marilyn Monroe in 1962, then you had Jane Birkin um in 1969, and then you had Cher and Bob Mackey. I'm just looking at some pictures, guys. Um, Kate Moss. Um, so it's different people wore different styles that were, you know, you had Jeff Kravitz who wore um the see-through look. Um, Halle Berry had like a drop gorgeous dress. Um, Rihanna wore in 2014 a cute dress. Um, we have um Megan Fox. So different designers wear different sheer looks. Now, a lot of ladies who are um about to have um a child, they wear the sheer looks over their bellies and they go take pictures. So um there's different ways you can um do revelations with nude and sheer looks. Um, I have like some sheer skirts and I do them for fun with t-shirts, um, but they have like linings under them, so they're very um conservative bound, but they are sheer and I'm having fun with it. So there's just different ways that you can do sheer um without revealing too much. I just wanted to go back, do part two. Shear looks are amazing if you wear them in appropriate settings, like beaches, um, red carpet looks, and maybe if you're doing like private um events as well. Um, shear can be elegant, sheer can be classy. It's all on how you um put the outfit together. So um gotta love sheer looks. Let's wear them, let's keep wearing them, but let's wear them in elegant and um not so much revealing ways. Um, thank you for listening to the quick podcast. Have a happy Fourth of July weekend. I just wanted to do a quick podcast um for you to talk about sheer looks. Have fun this weekend, wear your red, white, and blue. Um, if you want to wear sheer, you can do that too. Um, at the pool or at a barbecue. Um, but keep it elegant and keep it classy. Thank you for listening. Bye bye, everyone.
