His official websites is still giving us new fashion trends, styles and iconic looks.
I hope you enjoy the podcast about the late Karl Lagerfeld.
Hello everyone. Thank you for joining Take a Fashion Seat. So tonight I'm going to be discussing part two of the late and amazing Carl Laggerfield. Well, some people say Laggerfield and some say Lagerfeld. So I believe it's pronounced Carl Lagerfeld. Okay. So basically, I want to do part two because it's so extensive and he was so iconic. So Lagerfield began his career in fashion in like the 50s. So he started in the 50s working with several top fashion houses like Chloe. He did um Balmain and Pattel. So he that's how he got his start. He started back then. So the story goes basically, he was born in 1933 in Hamburg, Germany. Yes, he was born in Germany. And he passed away February 19th, 2019, um in Paris, France. So he was a German fashion designer and photographer, believe it or not. And he was best known for reviving Chanel. He was a creative director, he was the creative power behind the revival of Chanel. I mean, he did it in a legendary way, and I just couldn't get over it. And because I'm a Chanel lover, just I just love like Chanel, the quilted bag, the black dresses. Like that's me. I'm a total Chanel girl. And that's why I like Carl Ladderfield so much because he represents Chanel. And I just like I'm like, let me talk about him again. Because he was that powerful. Now I have thousands of designers that I have to get through. My podcast is gonna be around for years, guys, because it's so many designers I want to talk about. I also want to bring in um virtually some designers as well as one-on-one with designers. We're gonna be getting to all of that. The podcast is gonna be doing some things, it's gonna go through some renaissance and it's gonna grow. So in the future, I hope to sit down and do one-on-ones with many of them and do some virtual interviews. But let's just do a timeline of Carl Lagathiel. And we talked about when he was born and when he passed, which was in 2019. So he renowned, we know basically he renowned and revitalized the house of Chanel. Period. Like it's like just he just legendarily, epically just did it, and it just people were just waiting for Chanel to come down the walkway and the runway. Um, he was propellific, um, basically a titan when it came to style and creativity on a global scale for not only himself with his brand, but for Chanel. Now, the his early career and how he broke through was um in 1952, guys. What he did was he moved to Paris and he started working as a fashion illustrator, so you gotta start somewhere. Like you see me, I'm starting with a podcast. So you never know where things will bring, you know, you're just like a fashion lover. His he moved to Paris, guys, and he started working as a fashion illustrator. This was in 1952. Now in 52, he won a first his first prize for a coat he designed. It was like this wool coat. So then in um 55, he hired an assistant, Pierre Baumagne, guys, and later moved to Jean Patel as an artistic director in 1958. So that was like his start. So I wanted, we're doing a timeline. This is what the podcast is about. Basically, I wanted to do part two because the first one I talked about like where you can shop for Carl Latterville, I did the history of him, his life. But this time I'm doing a timeline because I wanted to cover that the last time, and I didn't. We I just went into Carl Latterville and I went into the fashion and I went into his history. Now, his rise in the industry as a Titan started in '84. So in 1984, he left Paris to study, like in Italy, he went to did freelance designing and major for major brands. He at between 19, um, basically, I apologize, 1964, he left Paris and studied um art history in Italy. So that's my apologies, 1964. And then in 1980, well, to 1983, and then from 1992 to 1997, he designed um for Chloe, layering the groundwork for his reputation in master of modern elegance. So that was done during that period. So in 19, now, specifically in 1965, he collaborated with Italian luxury house Fendi. So I that's something I didn't know. So he did like he worked with Fendi, um, Ready to Wear Line. So he did that. Now the Chanel revival came like basically in 1983, he joined Chanel as a creative director, stepping in when the legendary brand was widely considered out of date. I like guys, can you believe it? Like Chanel, as iconic as Chanel is. Can you believe in 1983 people considered it outdated? I just can't, like, I can't imagine that. Like, I just see it as like it's iconic and legendary. Like the always, like I never knew when he stepped in that was what they were saying. So he boldly reinvented the classic codes and he did the tweeds and he updated everything with the C logo. And then in 1984, he launched his own brand called Laggerfield, yes, which later operated under an umbrella, um, now globally via the call Lagerfield official website. So this is, I mean, it's just amazing how what he did. This is like the timeline I'm discussing. Um, he did like he had multi-talent, he did photography, he picked up the camera in 1987, and he quickly became a holly sought-after photographer. So I don't know, you knew that. And he did like many spreads and campaigns. Now he also did um, he crafted like personal uniforms, he did like holly starch collar, dark sunglasses, and maybe he became like a persona. That was another talent. He was his own persona, he was his own persona because he crafted that look with the sleek suit with the high starch collar and the sunglasses and the powdered hair. So, like, guys, he just he's like a he became like an avatar. So he did that, and then in 2019 he passed away um in France. So that was the sad part, but he just like that was his life. Now, his personal life was he was basically very influential figure, but he had no spouse, no children, or any surviving siblings. When he died, he was 85. So he lived a mystique and amazing life, and he lived it separate, like he was he didn't have a family, he gave his life to fashion, and that was so iconic, you know. So that's what I wanted to share. Now let's dig into his actual brand, like the Carl Laggerfield brand. So he was iconic with basically starting his own brand. He were he he rediscovered and he did the whole Chanel thing. But remember, Carl Lagarfield himself is a brand. So I wanna you can get it like me. I got a couple pieces. Well, well, I you know, Nordstrom's carry it and Macy's. So you can do you can go there and get like items if you want them now, even today. You can get like Car Laggerfield designs. So basically, you can get these things when you shop on his website. You can also get like hats, um, you can get shoes, you also can get boots and umbrellas. It gets deeper. Let's look, let's we're gonna get deeper into the accessories. With the accessories, you can get gloves and scarves, you also can get um belts, umbrellas. And I'm looking at some of the bags, and they're very nice, very beautiful. You can get the mesh shoes and sandals for the beach and all of that. So his website is very nice. He has even had they even have baby styles. So I'm I'm so I'm impressed with the website. It's so much to see. It's a festival and ready, ready to wear finds. Um, for women, men, women, and men's shoes, the baby things, like the website is just so iconic. And you can go to Nordstroms and get some things as well. Um, then this one is he's setting the beat to Parisian rhythm with Paris Hilton. So he did that. That's the next picture. Okay, we're winding down, guys, with the podcast. We're just on his Instagram page, and you see the white cat, and I'm looking at Paris Hilton. The next picture is um a look built on contrast, softness, meet structure at Paris Hilton, where it's called Laggerfell. So I'm looking at a lot of pictures with with Paris Hilton, and she's the latest on his page. So this was April the 30th, Paris Hilton. So she's doing a lot of Carl Laggerfell. Then I'm looking at now. This is precious, guys. Um, there's the ideas come with everything is quiet, Carl Leggerfield. Of course, there's the tress that looks like a checker piece. It's beautiful, and she's reading this like iconic Paris book.
