Hello everyone, welcome to Take a Fashion Seat. How are you tonight? I hope you're doing wonderful. So tonight I want to talk about silk designers and places where you can buy silk attire, such as dresses, trousers, blouses, even nightwear, and accessories like scarves. So my favorite is a silk scarf. I love silk scarves, especially at night. Like I wanted sometime to keep my hair in place. Now I don't wear a scarf every night, but when I want to keep the style in place, I will put a silk scarf on. My dream scarf would be like a silk herma's scarf. That's what I want. I want one of those. So that's on my list. But um, silk has been around for a very long time, and we love the luxury of feeling silk on our skin because it feels luxurious, and that's what we like. So let's dig right into it. Aren't you guys silk lovers? I know you are because you're listening. Okay, so you can get silk fashion from now here in Merlin. It's a place called SL Fashion, and they you can actually they they offer like a wide variety of unique styles and silk. So that's a place you can do now. Um, you can do question is who produces the best silk? So basically, you know who produces this best silk. I'm not even, I mean, I'm gonna say it, but you I know what you're thinking. Like, I know you you know it's China. So China manufactures the best Marlberry silk. That's where it comes from, guys. It's one of the most luxurious and high-quality silks in the world. It's China, guys, and it's called Marlberry silk. So keep that in mind. Keep that in mind when you're buying your silks, man. Sure, because I was like, wait, is that where it is? So you live and you learn, and when I'm doing these podcasts, I'm researching and I'm learning things, and I learned the best silk is called Marlberry Silk, and it's manufactured in China, it's very soft, luxurious, and it has um it forms an exclusive diet of silkworms. So it's it's interesting, I know. Right. I was thinking the same thing. They're the biggest manufacturer, and the most famous um scarves you can get because I'm into scarves. I love a great scarf. I mean, it keeps your neck warm. I love scarves. I think ladies look amazing in silk, ladies and gentlemen, look amazing in silk scarves. Like you can get the high-quality ones like Versace, Givante, Fergam, Ferg Ferragamo, also Barberry, and Herma's. I mean, that's the one I want. I did, I think I want to go with the hermaise, and I also would like um a salvatore Farragamo scarf, and maybe a Rosashi scarf, maybe, not quite sure, but I mean I'll put it on my list. So let's keep on digging into the silk design. So you can also do now MuseArt did top four fashion designers of silk. It's like the eerie silk, it's E-R-I, that's the name of the silk, and the fashion designers that they're speaking about is Daniel Siam. He's one of them. Lucy Tamman, Jide Already. These are silk designers. So Daniel Siam, Lucy Tannman. The next one is uh Jyote Reddy and Annie Louise Manel. Now let's talk a little bit about these silks. So this article was by Mrizot. The fashion industry is one of the biggest industries in the world with a market value of$406 billion. Must I say it again?$406 billion. In the US alone, there are about$227, well, 2022,700 fashion designers, and one-fourth of the fashion designers are self-employed, guys. These individuals are creative and beautiful, and they're self-employed. Even slow fashion designers use cotton, wool, or silk with different sustainable designs techniques, zero waist pattern cutting, minimal seam construction, upcycling. These are the ways to save, guys. So you gotta be sustainable because we're living in a new era, and you can do all kinds of ways to say, I mean, you can even do vintage shopping. I mean, you gotta kind of like save our environment while you're enjoying fashion. That's why I do so much vintage shopping because I try to save the environment. Not buying a bunch of new clothes, and then you only can wear them what a couple times, and then so I mean, you know, you gotta share the clothes, you gotta give them away, you gotta do what you do. Don't hold on to those clothes for very long, you know. Recycle, um, sell them to retailers or do vintage shopping. Um, but don't, you know, like make it better for the earth, all right, guys. So that was I wanted to name those four designers. So Weebly did an article, my favorite silk designers from the 18th century. So let's dig into the like the 18th century. This was a long time ago. So we'll talk about it. So the article was written by Weebly, and it's like the suing junkies. So it says, um, a major exhibition of collection was mounted in at the VA in 1990 and was called Flowered Silks, a noble manufacturer of the 18th century. The whole exhibition made a lasting impression on me. That was the writer, and tier designers remain strongly in mind. James Lehman, whose colors and clearly defined floral motifs have an extraordinary freshness and could have been designed today. And Anna Marie Garthwaite, the master of invented flowers. So it was like a floral type thing. They were silks. Her shapes were fantasy land and great fun to stitch while her colors are soft and rich. So James Lehman was a manufacturer as well as a designer, which was uncommon. His family originally came from Amsterdam, but his father settled in Canterbury, England, after they had suffered persecution as Huguenots. And I gotta dig into that. Now, Anna Gayworth was a freelance designer, apparently untrained, but with an amazing grasp of the design requirements for working with silk. She was prolific, producing up to 80 designs in a single year. Silk weaving was an important industry in England at the time, much of it undertaken in workshops scattered around London. So, wasn't that a great story, guys? I mean, I like to do when I talk about things, I like to go back because history repeats itself and that's what it does. So you always go back when you're doing research and you'll find it interesting to learn from the old because you know what's new basically been around. They just redo things and make things more dynamic, more interesting, more up to date. But I mean it's the same old story. I mean, really, it is. You have to be creative in everything you do. Now, Silksuki did the Timeless Allure of Silk, um, and that was really beautifully written. And they talked about Saint Laurent, Giorgio Almarni, you know, so they said silk fabric has reached a staple in the fashion industry for centuries. Um, and it just the article was beautiful, and it talked about um natural silk that has a unique luster and drape. It's lightweight, soft, and breathable. And that's what I like about silk because it's breathable. It's it perfect for summer and winter. You can use silks all year long. In addition, silk has the ability to absorb moisture, making it a comfortable choice for clothing. These qualities, combined with its aesthetic appeal, makes light a highly desirable fabric for designers. Let's talk about Saint Laurent. One of the most famous designers who has yeast silk is the late Eve Saint Laurent. Saint Laurent was known for his luxurious and feminine creations. Um, one of the most iconic designers in the Mondarin dress, which was made with silk crepe and bold colors, blocking, inspired by the artwork of Piet Mondarin. Woo, guys, don't that sound amazing? Now let's talk about Giorgio Armani. Another designer who has extensive use of silk is Giorgio Armani, was known for sophisticated and understated designs, and silk played a significant role in his aesthetic. Many of the evening gowns are made with silk chiffon, which creates a delicate earth-like look. Um, Armani, you know, he used silk to create tailored suits and luxury elegant finishes. So that was a beautiful article by Silky Sit, and it just talked about the silk. Then let's go into like some other people who are amazing with silk. It's a place um called well magnificence. They talked about silk, six silk scarf artists with hidden talents, and then you have around the block, you could get like vintage scarves from them. Um, and he does he just does a luxury job with his designs, and you can get like silk and satins. You can kind of, you know, the silks and the satins, Clea, Clea Silk, Satin, Isaac Long. You um are invited to on a nice cruise. You want to do like a silk dress for the evening. That's nice, or you want to do like you're going on an evening boat cruise, a dinner cruise, you want to do some silks. Um, let's just say that you're going out to um an evening party, like just say, like a jewelry party or some type of evening party where people are gathering. You can do a silk dress, a silk skirt. You'll feel like a rich lady, I'm telling you. It feels amazing because silk is so cool. So it's if it's like a hot night, you could do a silk, that's to say, do a silk night.
